Contribution to environmental preservation

KFC introduces the practice of smart consumption and contributes to sustainable development. Understanding the existing environmental challenges, KFC is implementing a range of initiatives to protect the environment.

We are eliminating unnecessary plastic: cold and hot drinks are now served without plastic lids and straws. Instead, we use more eco-friendly cups. Drinks are provided without extras, and our guests can take only what they need (sugar, stir sticks, napkins), helping to reduce waste.

Packaging is regularly optimized. Potato and chicken packaging has become more compact, reducing material usage. Used oil is not discarded but sent for recycling, reducing environmental pollution. Plastic forks and spoons have been replaced with wooden ones, promoting more responsible consumption. Almost all cardboard packaging used in the kitchen is sent for recycling, giving it a second life.

In our establishments, only phosphate-free cleaning products are used, which do not pollute water. Most takeaway orders are provided in paper bags instead of plastic ones.

Thanks to these eco-friendly initiatives, we have reduced plastic usage and packaging volumes. Monthly, we save approximately 250 kg of plastic by cutting straw usage by 20% and 200 kg by reducing plastic lid consumption by 30%. Additionally, packaging volume has been reduced by 25–30%. Over the past year, KFC has recycled more than 200,000 liters of oil.

Smart consumption is not just a trend but a philosophy encouraging us to live more responsibly. Each of us can be part of the global movement to protect the planet. By choosing KFC, you make a conscious choice for the environment. Every drop of water saved, every tree preserved, and every plastic lid not produced is our shared contribution to the planet's future.‍
